Skincare Products & Routine

Skincare Routine..

I believe skin care is the root to good makeup, good skin care routine and your make-up will look even more flawless.

I'm a bit slap-dash when it comes to cleansing in the mornings (eek oops!) I try as much as possible but those extra minutes in bed are just too tempting to resist.. However it is advisable to be cleansing twice a day.

So as I brush past my first skin care error I'll move onto my evening routine..

I adore this cleanser! I've never used BioDerma before but I've read that this works as a close dupe. I love the water-like consistency as no one likes to be left with an oily face after removing make-up, it's just so easy to use needing only cotton pads. It is really gentle on the skin and removes all make-up including the eyes and stubborn dark lips.

I tend to switch between the two.. Just to give my skin something a little bit different rather than my skin building up a tolerance to a certain product.

I have been using Daily Microfoliant on & off for around 1 year now and it has done wonders for my skin, this is one of Dermalogica's 'hero product's' I can completely understand why! It comes as a powder consistency that you add water to making it into a slight foam, this acts as a chemical exfoliator (rather than a physical exfoliator, the scrub type ones that contain the beads that are slightly too abrasive for sensitive skins like mine) it immediately leaves the skin feeling silky soft after use and it's actually good to use in the mornings as it gives a brightening effect on the skin to last the day.

I was then introduced to the Pixi Glow Tonic by the lovely Mammaful Zo after reading her review I just had to get my hands on this product, again being a chemical exfoliator, it's just great for my sensitive skin. It's an active product and you can really feel it working but does the job! It is definately going to keep a secure spot in my skincare routine.

Moisturizer: No7 Hydration Mask
(I got this product a fair while ago and since then the packaging has changed)

This is in fact what is says and acts as a hydration mask so this is a bit of a 2-in-1 product as it does suggest on the side of the bottle that you can use it as a moisturizer by applying a thinner layer than a mask-amount. It may sound like this would be too heavy for a moisturizer but it is just right for my skin (I'm not overly dry but I do have patches of concern on my cheeks and chin.) Overnight this product works it's magic and I wake up with such hydrated skin which helps my make-up just glide on.. LOVE.

What products do you use for your skincare routine?

  2. My favourite moisturiser has to be the body shop one, it's not too expensive and you get a lot of uses out of it!
